The Global Lab Information and Data Solutions (IDS) team delivers and maintains applications that support the Global Lab organization at Lilly. This team is part of the broader Manufacturing and Quality (M&Q) IDS organization that continues to transform as we look to the digital plant of the future and support manufacturing operational excellence and productivity efforts maximizing the use of technology and analytics.
The Global Lab IDS team works in partnership with the Global Lab business central and site representatives to define business needs and provide solutions for Lab. This team is responsible for the support and solution delivery of IT tools that support the Global Lab business application portfolio, such as LIMS, LES, ELN, CDS, and Lab intelligence solution.
A key role in the Global Lab organization is the Empower MQ IDS Labs Systems Engineer position. This position will focus on the following key elements: -Deploy and maintain Empower and its related technologies in the Manufacturing Analytical Laboratories.
Deliver IT solutions that are aligned with enterprise IT and QC Lab goals
Influence life cycle decisions and establish of appropriate processes to ensure Lilly IT evolves to achieve future architecture direction.
Deep understanding of Empower, its configuration and interface with other systems like ELN or LES.
Provide guidance on validation and test strategy, leverage the use of automation testing where applicable.
Work with Global Quality Laboratories leadership (GQL), site IT Team, and Enterprise IT architecture on cross-organizational projects.
Ensure application compliance to Lilly Standards and Quality rules. Write, or oversee creation of validation documentation for the supported systems.
Acts as a Subject Matter Expert with vendors and external partners.
Responsible for the resolution of any problems and incidents for the supported solutions in compliance with applicable processes and provide oversight to the Tier 1 support team.
Technical support on Laboratory Acquisition Control Environment servers and instrument drivers
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, Information Technology, Management Information Systems, or related field.
Minimum 3 years of experience on support and maintenance of Empower, including LAC/e
Working knowledge of technical tools (SQL, PL/SQL,JAVA,C++, Unix)
Previous experience working with Windows, Linux and Oracle platforms.
Additional Preferred Requirements:
Knowledge of QC Lab operations or Manufacturing operations
Knowledge of S95 Architecture Model
Ability to thrive in a complex, changing, virtual environment with multiple manufacturing sites.
Demonstrated learning agility both technically as well as business processes and applications.
Demonstrated initiative to build relationships. Influence peers and business partners
Demonstrated ability to proactively identify issues and either resolve or escalate to the appropriate level for resolution.
Strong problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to evaluate, facilitate, and drive towards risk-based decision making.
Good communication skills (written/oral).
Process improvement skills
Knowledge of GAMP/FDA/EMEA validation standards, understanding of GMP, GLP and CRF 21 part 11
Pharmaceutical or healthcare industry experience
Experience with interfacing automated equipment with Lab systems
Understanding of Agile methodology
Experience with HP ALM and coding platforms like GitHub
Experience with automation testing (United Function Testing) and robotic process automation.
Travel to US or other Lilly entities may be required.
After hours support due to manufacturing 24/7 operations may be required
Location is Flexible = Employee can be performed from US or European Lilly Manufacturing sites

M&Q operates on a 24/7 schedule requiring work off hours and on weekends as needed
