P1

Note: Roles are posted at the lowest level of a band, however, employees should search across all levels of the band to identify all opportunities. Employees hired on banded positions (ex: P1-P3, R1-R2, B1-B3, etc.) transfer at their current level, despite the level indicated on the job posting. For example, if a P2 candidate is selected for a P1-P3 banded position, the candidate will remain a P2 in the new role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide packaging engineering expertise as an active member of area process teams.

  • Obtain technical expertise of equipment and processes in area of responsibility. This includes clear understanding of equipment flow chart/process flow document, critical process parameters, and instructions for the process.

  • Establish & monitor/trend packaging material performance verifying and optimizing equipment performance.

  • Lead troubleshooting efforts to resolve equipment or operational problems as they relate to packaging materials – including utilizing formal problem-solving techniques (Root Cause Analysis).

  • Implement corrections, corrective actions, and countermeasures arising from CAPA’s.

  • Maintain product packaging presentations and associated master packaging order documentation, including PMX ticket changes and stability packaging orders.

  • Coordinate test materials with process team engineering and operations as needed.

  • Own change controls for material layout changes.

  • Lead periodic review efforts of packaging material specifications.

  • Collaborate with Packaging Engineering Lead to identify continuous improvement and productivity improvement within packaging operations.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors in Engineering (preferably Packaging Engineering) or related science

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience in a highly regulated environment (preferably as a Packaging Engineer)

  • Understanding of printed packaging development, packaging specifications, asset delivery/Commissioning & Qualification processes, product/package stability, and packaging components

  • Familiarity with technology advances in packaging

  • Capable of managing and balancing multiple initiatives concurrently

  • Project management experience

  • Experience with vendor management, including selection & qualification

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent self-management and organization skills

  • Ability to drive change through influence

Additional Information:

  • Some domestic and international travel (<5%) may be required.

  • Role requires work in manufacturing environment.

  • Safety equipment and /or gowning may be required.
