We are seeking an ambitious post-doctoral scientist with strong research and interpersonal skills to contribute to high visibility research projects. Your work will contribute to the development of tools and techniques to assess the impact of supersaturation and precipitation on oral dosage form absorption. This research will not only improve the general understanding of oral absorption but also enable the development of drug products with outstanding performance characteristics. In this role, you will:
Design and conduct experiments to measure in vivo relevant supersaturation and precipitation.
Apply innovative thermodynamic and kinetic models to describe supersaturation and precipitation phenomena
Define methodologies such that they will readily interface with current in silico oral absorption models.
Investigate sensitivity of the techniques to important experimental parameters (fluid composition, residence time, mixing dynamics, degree of supersaturation, scale). Refine and validate the techniques based on findings.
Focus on defining clear scientific hypothesis, goals and fit-for-purpose experimental plans and timelines in support of advancing the Lilly portfolio.
Keep abreast of relevant scientific literature/new technologies/capabilities.
Effectively integrate cross-functional information and apply technical knowledge to data-driven decisions.
Identify areas of key need across drug development and champion creative solutions to address those needs. Maintain external awareness and learning to benefit the organization.
Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.
- Ph. D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related field

Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record.
Experience in oral absorption and bio pharmaceutics.
Knowledge and experience with oral dosage form performance, supersaturation and precipitation phenomena.
Understanding of analytical measurements and techniques, including UV/Vis and/or HPLC
Experience with modeling methodologies used to describe oral absorption and related physical processes.
Proficiency in computer programming languages and computational techniques
Excellent problem solving and decision-making skills.
Proficient in data analysis and reporting.
Demonstration of scientific leadership skills.
Able to work efficiently in an interdisciplinary team environment.
- This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend to 3 years and for maximum of up to 4 years. You will have opportunities to apply for full time positions after your duration is complete.
