Post Doctoral Scientist - Neurodegeneration

Some Possible Responsibilities In This Role:

We are seeking a results-oriented post-doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to highly visible research projects. This work will contribute to the development of therapeutic strategy targeting tau mediated neurodegeneration.

  • Investigate mechanisms of Tau mediated neurodegeneration in animal models

  • Unravel the relationship between tau toxicity and neuronal dysfunction and degeneration

  • Evaluate the impact of therapeutic modulation on the progression of neurodegeneration and associated fluid and imaging biomarker changes

  • Work with others within Neuroscience and across therapeutic areas in a highly collaborative environment

  • Identify areas of key need across clinical development and champion creative solutions to address those needs. Maintain external awareness and learning.

  • Present findings and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in Neuroscience, Cell Biology or other related field

  • Strong background in Neurodegeneration research preferred

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Proactive and highly motivated individual who has a strong desire in performing groundbreaking translational research

  • Excellent communicator (oral and written) with presentation experience, along with a strong publication record.

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting

  • Proficient in cell/tissue culture, molecular biology and biochemistry techniques

  • Prior working experience with Alzheimer’s disease or other neurodegenerative mouse models

  • Familiar with imaging techniques such as confocal and two-photon microscopy

  • Experience in transcriptomic or proteomic analysis is a plus​

Additional Information:

  • This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of 2 years with potential to extend to maximum of up to 4 years.
