We are looking for a scientist who will make a significant difference by contributing to the pursuit of gene therapy for areas of unmet medical need. You will be working in the Integrated Immunogenicity Research Group at Eli Lilly. We are a highly collaborative cross-functional team committed to developing innovative, cutting-edge assays for the assessment of immune responses to therapeutics.
We seek an ambitious post-doctoral scientist with strong research and communication skills to contribute to high visible research projects. Your work will advance the understanding of the immunogenicity of adeno-associated virus (AAV) and contribute to the development of more effective and safe gene therapy vectors. In this role, you will:
Develop innovative and creative approaches for dissecting immune responses to AAV vectors.
Work in a highly collaborative and cross-functional environment with expertise in immune response to biologics.
Identify areas of key need across clinical development and champion creative solutions to address those needs.
Maintain external awareness and learning to benefit the organization.
Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.
- PhD in Immunology, Virology or related life science field; preferably with a strong background in human immunology
Self-directed and highly motivated individual who wants to learn new techniques while continually pursuing research and publication goals.
Outstanding communicator (oral and written) with national and international presentation experience, along with strong publication record.
Proficient in data analysis and reporting (PRISM, Excel, Powerpoint, Photoshop, FlowJo, Spotfire, etc.).
Broad experience with immunological and molecular principles and techniques including primary cell isolation/culture, multicolor flow cytometry and cell sorting.
Solid experience with in vitro functional assays using mammalian immune cells.
Experienced with molecular biology and protein-level analysis.
Experience with AAV vectors, MHC-Associated Peptide Proteomics (MAPPS) assay, mass spectrometry or KNIME data analytic platform is a plus.
- This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed term position of 2 years up to a maximum of 4 years.
