We are seeking an adventurous post-doctoral scientist with outstanding research skills to contribute to highly visible research projects at Lilly Corporate Center, Indianapolis headquarters. You will join the teams working on the development of a new class of cell-specific intracellular delivery shuttles and testing their applications for delivering genetic medicines. Your work will focus on generating and characterizing the molecules, intravital in vivo imaging to demonstrate target delivery of antibody, peptide, and oligonucleotide to the specific organ/cell types. The successful candidate will join a highly interactive, collaborative, and innovative scientific teams to discover and advance large molecule drugs to combat diseases in the diabetes, pain, neurodegenerative, cancer and auto-immune areas. This role will be embedded at Lilly’s Biotherapeutic Enabling Biology of Biotechnology Discovery Research in Medicines Innovation Hub (MIH), which serves as groundbreaking scientific unit working across all disease areas (diabetes, pain, neurodegenerative, cancer and auto-immune diseases) to identify and develop quality targets, hits, leads, and drug candidates.


  • Generate novel delivery shuttles for cytoplasmic delivery of sophisticated bioconjugate with applications for siRNA delivery.

  • Test cell-specific shuttles for their ability to improve productive siRNA delivery in vitro and in vivo.

  • Leverage bio-imaging technology to identify tissue distribution of antibody, peptides and oligonucleotide in cellular level in vivo

  • Develop molecular strategies to improve antibody/peptide/siRNA delivery to the target cell in organ in vivo.

  • Present findings at conferences and publish in high quality peer-reviewed journals.

Basic Requirements:

  • PhD in a life science related field

  • Experience or fundamental knowledge of confocal microscope

  • Experience with in vivo rodent studies

Additional Preferences:

  • Experience histology and immunohistochemistry

  • Experience in small animal imaging

  • Work well as an individual contributor as well as a good teammate

  • Proficiency in rodents handling, pathology, and anatomy of organs

  • In vitro tissue culture skills, PCR, qRT-PCR

  • Self-directed and highly motivated and agile individual who wants to learn new techniques and apply them to biotherapeutic development and targeted delivery

  • Flow cytometry skills prefer

  • Experienced with light sheet microscope prefer

  • Outstanding communicator (oral and written) with a strong publication record and experience presenting at international conferences

  • Proficient in data analysis and reporting (GraphPad Prism, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, Spotfire, etc.)
