The Global Serialization Program is responsible for providing engineering and technical support for Lilly commercial packaging operations worldwide. Global legislation requires that Lilly products be uniquely identified, tracked, and reported to regulatory bodies. The Global Serialization Program (GSP) manages the complex activities needed to successfully implement, support, and adapt solutions to meet these requirements across the company.
The Engineer will support design and deployment activities at the sites as a process engineering representative through the length of the deployment activities, as well as provide support to the sites in activating serialization for each market and product by providing both remote and onsite support. The role will partner with both Serialization Software SMEs, IDS CLASS, and TCS personnel to create, maintain, and drive the schedule of work. This knowledge will be used to support internal GSP activities related to asset delivery and supporting processes,
Develop a deep understanding of the Serialization solutions deployed to meet Lilly’s global serialization strategy for packaging.
Assist Packaging sites globally with developing and implementing process improvements and technology upgrades for serialization that help with minimizing costs and production issues.
Major Capital Support - Provide technical leadership, both conceptual and detailed design, to Global Facilities Delivery on major capital projects for the Serialization Process; support the Design Delivery Gate Review process by maintaining Gate protocols and executing gates on major projects.
Partner with the business support team within the GSP to ensure alignment with packaging site needs
Assist in technical design for the technologies that support or interact with GSP solutions
Help prioritize the change agenda and participate in serialization change management governance. Evaluate impact of changes
Provide serialization support for site audits as needed
Provide Core Solution Leadership and application of CLASS principles as assigned
Knowledge sharing - Provide ongoing technical support to site packaging engineering groups, domestic and global.
Reviews and prepares presentations and technical reports.
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
3+ years packaging, automation, or software experience, specifically related to packaging processes and equipment
Additional Skills and information:
Manufacturing site experience strongly desired
Experience with packaging equipment, serialization, specifications, qualification/validation process, product/package stability, and packaging components
Experience with vendor management, including selection & qualification
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and with minimal direction
Ability to work across boundaries (functional, geographic, external company, etc).
Thorough technical understanding of the quality systems and regulatory requirements,
Project management experience
Position is onsite based in Indianapolis, IN.
