Lilly Reliability Engineer in Indianapolis, Indiana

The Reliability Engineer will support new product developments at Lilly along with tracking and trending the performance of legacy products. As a key member of the product development team, you will develop and implement innovative reliability approaches and analysis to deliver a world class failure-free product.

Management of Lilly’s Reliability Engineering team co-located in the US and Bangalore, India.


  • Develop procedures to establish acceptable risk and failure rate targets for Lilly devices.

  • Facilitate and generate FMEA and FTA (in addition to other risk management tools) for new product developments and ensure that the risk targets are met.

  • Develop a protocol and assist in implementing a FRACAS system to record, track and trend detailed observations of field failures and failures during development testing.

  • Integrate CAPA into newly developed FRACAS system.

  • Work directly with the suppliers and the design, manufacturing and quality engineering teams to enhance product reliability and quality by giving timely feedback from reliability testing.

  • Develop necessary criteria and database configurations to use statistical methods for data analysis to predict product reliability.

  • Provide test data analysis and prediction.

  • Develop product reliability specifications, reliability test plans and reliability test report.

  • Manage direct reporting responsibilities in the US and India for Reliability Engineering team.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Reliability Engineering, or related field.

  • 3+ years of employment history in Reliability Engineering and Testing.

  • Strong statistical background is required.

Additional Preferences:

  • Familiarity with electrical and mechanical reliability testing methods and reliability analysis.

  • Experience with Reliasoft’s synthesis platform tools or other reliability analysis software is a plus.Professional reliability certification desirable.
