The qualified individual will work in a group responsible for the development of potency assays and other biological characterization assays to support bioproduct development. The candidate will be responsible for the development and implementation of biological assays. The candidate will be expected to communicate results effectively in presentation and written reports, and to participate in cross-functional teams.
Develop, optimize and implement assays to assess the biological activity of bioproducts such as antibodies, bispecific antibodies, multifunctional proteins and peptides.
Develop, optimize and validate, transfer potency assays for QC release and stability testing to meet product requirements and corresponding regulatory requirements.
Responsible for experimental design, execution, data review and analysis, document writing, and contributing to sections of regulatory submissions. Generate and thoroughly document results, and maintain instrumentation in a GMP-compliant environment.
Coordinate and collaborate with internal and external partners. Work in cross functional teams
Assess and evaluate new technologies suitable for bioassay development.
PhD Degree in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Bioanalytical Chemistry or related field or
BS/MS in Molecular Biology, Immunology, Biochemistry, Bioanalytical chemistry or related field and a minimum of 5-7 years’ experience in pharma/Biotech industry
Demonstrated experience in elucidating mechanism of action of molecules, understanding gene expression control, signal transduction pathways in fields on oncology, immunology, neurobiology or endocrinology.
Extensive hands-on experience in potency assay development. (reporter gene assays, proliferation assays, effector function assays, other fluorescence and luminescence based assays, assays for novel therapeutic targets).
Understanding of GMP quality systems.
Knowledge about FDA/EMA regulations on potency assay development.
Experience with automation such as liquid handlers, FACS, Biacore
Experience with statistical analysis of bioassays using software such as SoftMAX pro, PLA2.0, JMP (SAS).
Demonstrated ability to train and supervise other scientists.
