Organization Overview

The ERP Services IDS organization is responsible to provide support and advancement of enterprise grade solutions that power the operations of Eli Lilly. The SAP Technical Analyst role is primarily responsible for collaborating with our Clinical Trial business partners, influencing business processes, tools and operating models within the technical solution and business area. The role is required to work across various teams and business process; assisting the business in identifying opportunities for using technology and information in new ways. This position will report to the Tech@Lilly (IT) Global Services Organization, SAP Supply Chain Management group.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

Utilize solid understanding of supply chain planning and clinical trial business processes in order to anticipate short term and future needs. Work with key business partners and other IT business process consultants to identify business problems and evolve the global solution, using SAP and non-SAP systems, to most effectively meet the clinical trial business needs. Leverage a deep understanding of how the IT tools are used by the business and how these tools interact, in order to influence the business to think in different ways by providing design direction and alternative options to meet business needs. Work with business process owners, other functional consultants, as well as the Enterprise Architecture group on cross organizational issues. Work directly with application vendors to understand and influence the vendor’s strategic direction for products, keeping an outward focus to identify new trends and opportunities. Responsible for alignment of business architecture direction with other IT areas. Coach and mentor management, team, and others on business processes, technologies and designs as appropriate. Responsible for technical design and support of SAP custom objects specific to the Lilly business, with a strong focus on clinical trial business partners

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree

  • 2+ years implementing and maintaining SAP

  • 2+ years ABAP development experience

  • Hybrid work location in Indianapolis, IN

  • Demonstrated ability to establish key relationships

  • Demonstrated ability to influence others and manage conflict.
