The Enterprise Data Team, part of the Digital Core Organization in Tech at Lilly, collaborates to speed business decisions through innovative enterprise data and analytics solutions, and friction-less access to trusted data. We work globally with our cross-functional Tech at Lilly partners to strategically align their needs with our fully integrated and intuitive data and analytic ecosystem.

This role will report to Kent Supancik, Associate Vice President, Tech at Lilly Digital Core.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and coach direct reports for success, develop for growth, raise the bar on performance, and improve diverse representation on the team. Appropriately manage team priorities and workload across new releases/implementations, on-going support and ad hoc initiatives. Note - administrative responsibilities and span of control may grow as the organization scales.

  • Proactively engage in problem resolution to provide excellent customer service by prioritizing, networking, communicating, and coaching Capability Owners for success. Support critical business outcomes, continuously driving standardization, automation/self-service, compliance, and improved employee experience.

  • Ensure successful completion of the committed quarterly scope for strategic initiatives by prioritizing, sponsoring/evolving the operating model, and coaching the project leaders. Partner with technical leaders to drive timely decisions on new technology.

  • Accountable for the operational planning and execution of the Enterprise Data Release Train.

  • Accountable for the clear definition, execution, and continued evolution of the Enterprise Data federated operating model.

  • Maximize adoption and the value derived from enterprise data and tools by increasing knowledge across Tech at Lilly of capabilities and how to maximize the services and technologies. Expose and overcome barriers.

  • Foster effective partnerships (e.g. Enterprise Cloud, Cybersecurity, Tech at Lilly M&Q) and champion continual collaboration across Tech@Lilly to learn and anticipate business trends. Collaborate and investigate to understand business needs and use-cases for enterprise data and tools.

  • Accountable for Enterprise Data financial planning and execution.

  • Active participant in Digital Core IRT, Change Control Board, Cloud Program Lead Team.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related scientific, business or IT-related field.

  • 10+ years leadership experience working with business partners to deliver business outcomes through IT solutions and services.

  • Demonstrated people management and development skills.

  • Experience managing global/enterprise-level programs, projects, and changes.

  • Strong communication and relationship management skills with experience influencing at all levels of the organization.

  • Experience leading data related organizations in pharma/life sciences.

  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders; navigate complex issues and find common ground with multiple constituencies with differing, and often opposing, perspectives.​

  • Demonstrated strategic thinking, learning agility, analytical skill, and complex analysis. ​

  • Strong collaboration, negotiation, problem solving, and interpersonal skills. Proven record of finding solutions and successful execution of complex initiatives ​.

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate with and influence across a broad range of levels, functions, and stakeholders across the enterprise​.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of modern cloud-based data management capabilities and services

  • AWS and/or Azure Cloud Foundations certification(s).

  • Demonstrated experience leading initiatives using the Scaled Agile Framework

  • Demonstrated knowledge of product management relative to data capabilities in an end-user environment

Location: US, Indianapolis. Travel less than 10% of the time.
