Lilly Senior Director - Global Employee Communications in Indianapolis, Indiana

Do you have strong internal communications and employee engagement experience to bring to a leading pharmaceutical company? The Senior Director, Global Employee and U.S. Communications, will be responsible for leading and implementing an internal communications strategy for Lilly’s global, U.S. and Indiana-based employees. This role will partner with colleagues in Global Communications (Enterprise Communications, Reputation Management and Creative, Content and Channels) to develop and implement a comprehensive internal communications strategy to support company objectives and deliver on Lilly’s global communications priorities.
Key Objectives and Responsibilities:
Create and implement a communications strategy that drives alignment with the overall company objectives and focuses on engaging employees across the globe.
Discover and launch a modernized approach to employee communications, using the latest technology and analytics and integrating internal channels in collaboration with key HR and Information Digital Solutions (IDS) partners.
With strategic direction from the Enterprise Communications Associate Vice President, lead communications efforts for priority employee initiatives, including a multi-year, global employee engagement campaign and two all-employee events, annually.
Develop creative, streamlined, connective and forward-looking internal communications that drive employee engagement and connect employees to Lilly’s Purpose.
Incorporating the corporate narrative create content, scripts and talking points for internal communications channels including LillyNow (company intranet), Yammer (internal social media), all-employee emails, and other large-scale communications.
Leverage data and analytics to inform communications strategy, tactical implementation and impact.
Partner with colleagues within Global Communications and across other business areas on urgent, time-sensitive communications relating to large-scale transformational and change management efforts (including executive transitions, global organizational announcements, etc.).
Supervise a team of communications professionals.
Guide external agencies and vendors, as needed.
Serve as member of the Enterprise Communications lead team.
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Public Relations or related field
10 or more years of diverse communications experience preferably within corporate or public relations agency environments including Internal Communications or Employee Engagement experience

Proven success managing multiple, competing initiatives.
Knowledge of and experience with the latest communications technologies and platforms.
Ability to display a confident presence with senior executives.
Experience managing teams with diverse skills and experiences.
Superb verbal and written communications skills.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills with quick learning capabilities.
Experience leading people and building strong working relationships at all levels across the organization.
Proven ability to be innovative and creative, and knowledgeable about new communications trends.
Proven track record in providing strategic, persuasive and appropriate communications counsel to executives.
Ability to manage issues and remain calm under pressure.
Meticulous attention to detail, with ability to grasp and focus on the big picture.
Project management capabilities that include process development and improvement, communications of standard processes, and measurement.
