The Sr Specialist - Lilly Fire Rescue (LFR) is responsible for supporting and executing the Indianapolis emergency preparedness and response plan at various Indianapolis facilities. This position leads approximately 30 volunteer emergency responders and contracted resources to manage site emergencies. This position additionally interacts with, security, fire safety systems, local building staff/management teams and outside agencies (e.g., IFD, IMPD, County board of health, etc.) When not responding to events, this position will conduct and /or oversee various maintenance/inspection activities and a number of training events along with special projects/events.
High School Diploma | GED
Must pass quantitative “fit-test” for Scott SCBA.
Must not be claustrophobic or acrophobic.
Must hold and maintain a clean driving record.
Must have the ability to read maps and understand graphical data.
This position is very physically demanding and will be contingent upon successful completion of a post offer exam
Must hold the following certifications:
Indiana State Firefighter I/II
Indiana State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT-B or higher)
Indiana State Hazardous Materials Technician
Must be “Level A Suit” personal protective equipment qualified.
Must be a Confined Space Rescue Technician or willing to get certified as such within first 6 months of employment
Incident Command training (NIMS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800)
Emergency Vehicle Operator Certification (EVOC)
Outside EMS/Fire Department experience.
Critical incident stress management experience
CPR Instructor and Fire Instructor 2/3 are required of the position but not at the time of posting.
This position will be expected to carry a cell phone and respond off hours
Personnel may come in contact with areas that historically contained Cephalosporin’s, Penicillin, and allergens.
Persons in this position will respond to incidents whose hazards are not yet known.
Persons may be exposed to biological hazards as a result of EMS and hazardous materials response.
Fire/Chemical response to immediately dangerous to life/health (IDLH) atmospheres is a possibility.
This position supports a 24/7/365 operation and will require shift work.
Will require successful completion of an annual Work Performance Evaluation (WPE)
