Position Description :
This Accounting Operations and Reporting Sr. Analyst position is a collaborative role supporting multiple initiatives within the Corporate Financial Reporting (CFR) team as a contributor to accounting, forecasting and external financial reporting processes. This role will have a primary focus on assisting with the accounting and forecasting of Lilly’s Compensation & Benefits programs, with additional contributions supporting the Financial Controls Organization (FCO) as well as aspects of CFR’s month-end closing process and quarterly external financial reporting.
Key Objectives / Deliverables :
Assist in the completion of monthly, quarterly, and year-end accounting for Compensation & Benefit programs (bonus program, pension and post-retirement plans, stock-based compensation plans, etc.) in accordance with US GAAP and Lilly Global Financial and Accounting Policies, including preparing journal vouchers, account reconciliations, and account analysis.
Assist in the preparation of quarterly and annual disclosures for external financial reporting, including 10-Q and 10-K disclosures related to compensation and benefits (pension and post-retirement plans, stock-based compensation programs).
Assist in the preparation of internal forecasts for global Compensation & Benefits scorecard.
Support the Lilly Financial Controls Organization with Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls documentation and processes.
Provide accounting support for Lilly’s legal accrual processes.
Assist in technical accounting research related to changes in accounting standards and changes in Compensation & Benefits program designs.
Other special project work as identified by senior leadership.
Pursue opportunities for streamlining, improving, or automating processes
Minimum Requirements :
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field

2 or more years of Public accounting or equivalent Corporate accounting experience
CPA or Chartered Accountant
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
High learning agility
Passion for continuous improvement
Strong interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
Excellent teamwork skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively to meet Team Lilly goals
Ability to work independently as well as multi-task and prioritize responsibilities
Working knowledge of Excel
Experience working with SAP
Travel is estimated to be less than 5%
Position will be located in Indianapolis.
Some overtime is expected based upon business needs and issues, particularly during monthly closes as well as quarter and year-end reporting cycles.
