Lilly Sr. Director of Projects - Global Facilities Delivery in Indianapolis, Indiana

Organization Overview:
This leadership position is in the Global Facilities Delivery (GFD) organization. GFD is responsible for the delivery of new capital assets and technology across the globe largely for the manufacturing component. The projects range in size from 25 million USD to 900 million USD. The role reports to the Associate VP of Global Facilities Delivery.
Responsibilities:
The individual in this role will have direct supervisory positions for project managers that deliver capital projects. This leader will interact with their manufacturing business partners to ensure the project is meeting business expectations and is incorporated into the site operations. The position is on the lead team and is responsible for both setting strategic direction and implementing tactical plans.
This role leads a team of 7-10 professional project managers. This includes performance management and compensation decisions as well as career development.
The role oversees a project portfolio consisting of 7-10 projects ensuring delivery of safety, cost, schedule, and quality deliverables in compliance with Corporate Policies and Procedures.
This role works in conjunction with engineering leaders at the manufacturing sites (global) to put together strategic (3-5 year look) and tactical (1-2 year look) capital plans.
This role communicates project risks at all stages of the project to senior manufacturing management
This role assists in development of strategic business plans and annual business plans for the Global Facilities Delivery Division.
Basic Requirements:
Bachelors in Engineering, Project Management or related science
Minimum 10 years relevant experience
Additional Skills/Preferences:
Demonstrated learning agility
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage cross functional teams delivering ever improving results
Prior work in manufacturing and/or packaging
Demonstrated negotiating skills
Proficient in dealing with external partners...A/E firms, Construction Management firms, Contractors
Proven ability to lead via influence and persuasion vs. positional power
Previous project management experience
Experience managing resources on global basis
Experience with pharmaceutical manufacturing and/or packaging processes
Additional Information:
Approximately 10-15% travel
Ability to travel globally required
