Position Brand Description:

The Sr Specialist- Automation Technician is responsible for providing first line automation and process controls support to production processes. The scope of this role starts with the initial Operations/Maintenance escalation to the successful completion, RFU and return to operations. This position requires expertise in multiple production processes and equipment, as well as a foundational knowledge in electrical/instrumentation and automation. The Sr Specialist- Automation will ensure that equipment is efficiently returned to a qualified state and can be operated safely.

Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Own the automation response for the equipment in the process/plant/site; coordinate with maintenance and engineering resources as needed to return equipment to use.

  • Create HOLDs and Service Now tickets as needed to support troubleshooting activities.

  • Understand the production process and critical process parameters.

  • Understand equipment specific code and control systems that maintain a qualified/validated process.

  • Understand the code development, modification, and deployment processes as they relate to cGMP processes

  • Find and eliminate safety issues with the equipment and processes.

  • Perform safety reviews and audits.

  • Perform activities in accordance with cGMPs and applicable procedures.

  • Attend and participate in start of shift / huddle meetings.

  • Transferring knowledge of equipment capabilities and operational techniques to operators, engineering, and maintenance.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Minimum 3 years of relevant GMP manufacturing experience.

  • Expertise in multiple production processes and equipment, instrumentation, PLC and/or HMI programming experience and equipment/process troubleshooting skills.

  • Completion of Post Offer Exam, or completion of Work Simulation if applicable.

Additional Preferences:

  • Knowledge of Parenteral equipment and manufacturing operations.

  • Change Control and Observation investigation experience

  • HOLD / Service Now knowledge

  • Associates Degree in Engineering or associated field

  • Demonstrated influential leadership skills

  • Demonstrated ability to work safely in a participative environment.

  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel; proficient at typing and writing technical documents.

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with strong organizational skills and attention to detail and ability to adapt to rapidly changing priorities

  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills and communications skills with a customer service attitude.

  • Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE Corporate and Site Goals

Education Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent

Other Information:

  • 12 hour shifts nights – 3-2-2-3, overtime will be required.

  • Minimal travel required.
