Medicines Development Information and Digital Solutions (MD IDS) serves as a strategic function within Lilly Research Laboratories (LRL). The MD IDS team defines and influences information and business strategies and designs and develops solutions to enable the realization of the LRL and MD IDS strategies. The role of the MD IDS Project Execution Lead is to provide project leadership and strategic direction on critical activities in order to achieve business objectives. Key responsibilities include applying the MD IDS Strategy within our applications and processes, translating business requirements to data/system requirements, performing impact analyses across applications, managing expectations with business partners and software vendors for project deliverables, analyzing future project ideas and their estimated business value, consulting with testers and developers to creatively brainstorm and right-size effective solutions, and providing leadership for successful execution of large, complex projects.
This role will primarily focus on delivery and execution of key IDS initiatives that support the R&D Portfolio and Project Management (PPM) Organization, including the ongoing expansion of Polaris for portfolio insights and advancing analytic capabilities. The PPM Organization plays a key role in leading R&D programs and advising leadership on portfolio performance. The information from portfolio systems includes scope, milestones, portfolio attributes, and costs, which is critical for leadership, R&D project teams and functions. This information is also valuable in investment analyses, productivity assessments, long and mid-range planning, external benchmarking, and project/portfolio oversight. The most recent implementation of the Prism Program, which modernized and consolidated R&D portfolio/project systems and capabilities, has resulted in new ways of working and new opportunities for efficiencies with enterprise business integration, process improvement, analytics, and innovation
