Position Description:

The TSMS (Technical Services/Manufacturing Science) PMX scientist position is a technical position that develops, implements, and executes the requirements for the manufacturing execution system (electronic batch record) of commercial processes. Primary objectives include but are not limited to, partnering with IT PMX resources for ticket design, development, and updates for commercial products, ensuring all PMX deliverables and landmarks are met, and resolving any PMX related issues so that the product control strategy can be effectively and reliably executed.

Key Objectives/Responsibilities

  • Understand the scientific principles required for manufacturing parenteral drug products including interaction of the chemistry, equipment, aseptic processes and container closure

  • Serve as PMX TS/MS subject matter expert (SME) for parenteral manufacturing products

  • Translate product control strategy and process flow document (PFD) requirements into accurate instruction sets (e.g. PMX tickets, electronic batch records, electronic procedures)

  • Partner with IT PMX and other TS/MS scientist resources for ticket design and development inputs, including how PMX interfaces with other automation systems, LIMS systems, etc.

  • Support project technical transfer initiatives

  • Team up with local Project Managers (PM's) and TS/MS Representatives to ensure project plans include all PMX critical considerations

  • Effectively connect with PM's and leadership to ensure appropriate resources are in secured to meet PMX needs

  • Raise and resolve technical issues when appropriate

  • Understand technical requirements and how they impact design delivery

  • Maintain a safe work environment, working safely and accountable for supporting all HSE corporate and site expectations

Education Requirements:

  • BS in chemistry, pharmacy, engineering, or other related scientific subject area

Basic Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years pharmaceutical manufacturing experience

  • Strong proven understanding of PMX or other manufacturing execution systems, electronic batch records, and parenteral manufacturing

Additional Preferences:

  • Teamwork and communication skills

  • Clear understanding of cGMPs

  • Strong technical writing skills

  • Multi-tasking ability

  • Strong self/time management and organizational skills.

  • MS in chemistry, pharmacy, engineering, or other related scientific subject area
