Technologist Internship Overview:
Are you passionate about using your skills to make a difference in patients’ lives? As a Technologist intern at Lilly, you will be assigned an IT project with projected outcomes to advance the Information and Data Solutions (IDS) organization. Interns are given project work with clear objectives designed to help drive advancement of as well as serve as key contributors to the evolution and growth of the IDS organization. This allows interns to work on projects which solve or add incremental value to the IDS organization while building a comprehensive understanding of the pharmaceutical industry and an understanding of the role IDS technology plays in building solutions for Lilly, benefitting the patients in which we serve. Professionals in Information and Digital Solutions careers come from a variety of backgrounds with unique experiences, bringing an assortment of knowledge and skills to support everything from research to marketing to global infrastructure. In the internship, you will have exposure to mentors, potential career path options, hands on experience, real world IT solutioning and access to senior leadership. At the conclusion of the summer, interns will present their internship program and project highlights, findings, and general internship accomplishments to other Information and Digital Solutions professionals for adoption and roll out.
As a Lilly Technologist Intern, you will:
Be matched with a project based on your interests, skills and experiences
Work directly with business partners and end users as a technical liaison
Work on IT projects to fulfill a business need or drive a business outcome
Understand functional business areas, their current and immediate needs, and anticipate future needs
Respond, translate, and create customer requirements using your business and technical knowledge
Propose solutions and influence business decisions
Manage your own priorities and allocation of time to meet deadlines
Learn and leverage new technologies to meet and/or advance project goals

Business & Technology Integration - Anticipate business needs and identify technical solutions that generate business outcomes

Data Science & Machine Learning - Develop, deploy, and use advanced data/algorithm capabilities that empower decision-making across the company
Digital Product Operations - Deploy and support the digital elements that enable our molecules, devices, apps, algorithms, and data
Customer Experience Design - Deliver integrated experiences for all our consumers so that they work seamlessly together in the context of the person using them
Cyber Security - Protect the information, products, and systems that enable Lilly to deliver on its mission
Development Operations - Manage the methods and tools facilitating communication, collaboration, and integration between development, operations, and quality assurance
Business Process Automation - Find opportunities for automation and configure software or bots to execute repeatable tasks in order to reduce errors and add efficiency
Requirements:
- Currently attending a college/university and will have completed your sophomore or junior year by June 2023 in an Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Business, Statistics, Security, and/or computer related academic program
Desired Experience:
Career interest in technology and a passion for applying technology solutions to help patients live better lives
General knowledge of IT principles, technologies, and methodologies
Customer focused approaches and partnering to achieve IT outcomes
Familiarity in requirements gathering, testing, and communicating results
Solid skills in problem analysis and solving
Ability to provide advice on use of technology and understand benefits of use/adoption
Ability to prioritize competing tasks and meet deadlines
Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
Proven teamwork/interpersonal skills
Leadership experience inside and/or outside the classroom
Familiarity with design, development, and operational methodologies (I.e. Agile, Waterfall, ITIL)
Passion for working on a team from diverse backgrounds
