Lilly Undergrad - QA/QC Laboratory Scientist CO-OP in Indianapolis, Indiana

Basic Qualifications:

  • Actively pursuing and have completed sophomore year in BS Chemistry, Biology, Microbiology or related field


The Co-op will be assigned a project affording them the opportunity to actively contribute to the development of methods, analytical control strategies, or project lifecycle sustainability for instrumentation and/or drug product commercialization. The role will include building knowledge of guidance and quality systems relating to the pharmaceutical industry. The co-op will perform research and hands on experiments in the laboratory contributing to analytical solutions at Eli Lilly and Company. Co-ops will interact with other scientific professionals, including Lilly senior management. At the conclusion of each work period, the co-op will present their project highlights and findings to Manufacturing Scientist Professionals & Sr Leadership.

Additional Responsibilities:

Understand analytical technologies related to pharmaceutical testing of active pharmaceutical ingredients and drug products, including evaluation of physical properties and separation sciences. Participate in development and implementation of analytical optimization projects related to new guidance, new technologies, or commercialization assets. Design, conduct, and analyze experiments to deepen analytical understanding, optimize method conditions, and improve analytical sustainability. Review current guidance, including external guidance and Lilly quality standards to apply to analytical control strategies. Utilize safe laboratory practices.
