Lilly Financial Analyst in Kinsale, Ireland

The position is responsible for managing the costing and inventory accounting activities of Eli Lilly Ireland Holdings Limited (“Company”). The position requires working closely with Lilly’s global API/Drug substance Bulk manufacturing sites and European Drug Product manufacturing sites. The position reports to the Business Lead, located in Kinsale.
Key Objectives/Deliverables:
Cost Accounting
Perform product costing processes as part of the annual standard costing process
Assess when product standard costs need to be revalued in accordance with Lilly policy
Computation/Analysis of product standard costs, including:
Standard cost maintenance
Completion of annual standard cost revision process
Analysis of standard cost change drivers
Review of revaluation calculations
Forecasting of planned manufacturing performance variances (use yield, PPV, losses, etc.)
Participation in annual planning pack/ templates for submission to Lilly US
Inventory Management
Financial oversight for accuracy, existence and valuation of Company inventory
Monthly inventory & COPS reconciliations to general ledger
Review of inventory aging; slow moving and obsolete inventory oversight including developing action plan and follow-up
Calculation and review of inventory provision including liaising with Company management and supply chain personnel
Liaising with supply chain and European manufacturing sites to ensure proper control is exercised with regard to cycle counting, inventory reconciliation and obsolescence.
Manage controls and accounting for inventory returns (inwards & outwards)
Oversight of goods in transit/Invoices in transit monthly reconciliation and resolution of issues as they arise
Perform weekly monitoring of order costing process/transactions
Production order settlement review
Perform review and analyse production variances
Resolve iDocs errors as needed
Detailed understanding of financial and physical supply chains associated with toll manufacturing.
Reporting & Analysis
Participate in the budgeting of Company’s OPEX and comparison of planned vs actual OPEX
Examine GR/IR differences (including MR11 write offs)
Review and comment on differences between planned variances (use yield, PPV, losses, etc.) versus actuals
Ensure all manufacturing & inventory accounts are accurately stated at monthly/quarterly/year-end close
Monitor costing & inventory related general accounting processes carried out by Cork-based Global Business Services centre and outsourced accounting partner. Liaise with those teams to advise on accounting postings where necessary.
Assist in annual budgeting / business plan preparation
Intercompany Accounting & Customer Support
Oversee and ensure the correct accounting for all transactions in complex intercompany purchases/sales, stock movements and toll accounting processes
Maintain a detailed understanding of financial and physical supply chains associated with the above processes, including purpose, functionality and risk profile of each entity in the supply chain
Act as Subject Matter Expert for above processes - troubleshoot SAP issues where standard interface transactions fail/ other standard transaction process errors occur
Compliance
Understand and follow all compliance policies, laws, regulations
Uphold a high quality of work which is efficient and effective while always maintaining a right first time approach
Other
Support import/export customs and duties activities as needed
Continuous preparation & readiness for internal/external audit - including ongoing adherence to inventory controls
Complete ad hoc projects for Lilly US and local management as needed
Basic Requirements:
Qualified Accountant ACA/CIMA/CPA/ACCA with 3-5 years PQE
Strong knowledge of toll manufacturing processes in an MRP environment including Manufacturing and/or Cost Accounting experience
Strong organisational and documentation skills
A positive solutions-focused mind-set
Excellent interpersonal & communication skills
Ability to work in small team and communicate with non-financial management
The following skills and knowledge would be a distinct advantage:
Knowledge of US GAAP
Experience with SAP
Knowledge/Experience with working in a SOX control environment
