Provide specialist advice to management and workforce by interpreting health, safety & environmental legislation, corporate standards, policies and industry guidance.
Deliver high quality Health and Safety training, communications and technical support.
Ensure company compliance and continuous improvement in Health and Safety and environmental standards, systems and programmes.
Oversee development, integration and continuous improvement of hazard identification, risk assessment and other programmes such as Serious Injury and Fatality prevention.
Understand and implement Environmental health and safety requirements in a project environment through knowledge of applicable legislation and industry practices.
Understand and support behavioural safety programmes for injury prevention.
Support a mature safety culture with integrated safety practices and open safety conversations.
Support General and Chemical Risk Assessments, Noise, Industrial Hygiene and Ergonomics.
Investigate and provide legislative guidance during incident response.
Liaising with and report to Environmental Health & Safety regulatory agencies and corporate auditing groups.
Collaboration with site manufacturing and technical support personnel to manage Environmental Health & Safety aspects of current processes.
Review process and equipment changes to identify potential Environmental Health & Safety impacts.
Participate in process flow teams and contractor HSE meetings
Hons Degree minimum qualification in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering or Science.
Minimum of 3 years professional experience.
Excellent communication/interpersonal skills
Good IT skills and knowledge of standard software packages (eg Microsoft Word, Excel)
Experience of operating within an integrated cross-functional H&S organisation
Practical implementation of Health and Safety management systems and internal audit programmes in a construction/projects environment
Demonstrated good planning and organisational skills, ability to prioritise tasks, commitment to task completion and timelines.
Must have an ability to deliver training to varied audiences
Must show initiative – ability and willingness to introduce new and modified programmes
