Job Responsibilities

Lead and manage affiliate procurement team members who own multiple sourcing categories and projects to drive saving and value by challenging status quo with business partners and executing ATC (Authority To Commit) as the representatives of the company

・Lead governance (Affiliate procurement committee) and SMM (Strategic Meeting Management team) to maximize opportunity/value through teamwork and strong use of relevant data.

・Lead and supervise internal control activities including policy update – e.g. FRAP, Third party management, employee travel, shorter payment term approval, individual supplier contracting with Legal.

・Ensure compliance to all procurement policies and procedures as appropriate thus ensuring an efficient and auditable procurement trail. Ensure proper vendor and third-party risk management.

・Work with Global / International Business Unit procurement to maximize opportunity by collaboration/replication, understand/provide necessary input/ implement necessary process change and maximize procurement committee.

・Lead/encourage team member to utilize available tools including Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) process, spend/market analysis and electric signature system. Act as “signer” for contracts with supplier through electric signature system.

・Invest in people by recruiting, developing, and retaining procurement talent with a focus on diversity and inclusion.

・Sourcing and Project management for own area – consulting and support ad-hoc affiliate projects Evaluate existing/available tools, partnership and resources to achieve goals.

Essential Skills / license

・An educational degree of at least a BA/BS degree

・Fluent in Japanese and English

・Ability to influence and mobilize the broad organization and achieve outcomes with 3rd party even in difficult situations

・People management skill to maximize team capability and motivation

・Strategic thinking / analytical skill

・Excellent communication skills including ability to present to senior management

・Curiosity, initiative, and passion for the business

・Cross functional project management skills

・Ability to make sound recommendation based on available information (80/20 rule) from broad perspective

・Ability for problem identification and solving

Desirable Skills / license:

・MBA or MSc in Economics, Finance or related field is preferred.

・A minimum of 5 years in Procurement with experiences including contracting, negotiating, category strategy development, spend analysis, supplier on-boarding, and supplier relationship management activities.

・Good understanding of Procurement and Compliance requirements

・Prior sourcing experience in managing key categories of spend in the areas of Meetings/Events, Car Fleet, Temporary Labor, Sales Labor, e-Marketing, Creative Agencies, Market Research and Medical Research.

・Prior experience in pharmaceutical company and operating in a global / multinational culture and working environment

【清算制フレックス勤務】適応あり。フレキシブルタイム:5時~22時内で勤務。(ただし、一斉休憩を除く)1日の必要最低労働時間:4時間(半日休暇時は2時間)一斉休憩:12時~13時
