Prevail Therapeutics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Eli Lilly and Company, is a biotechnology company focused on developing novel gene therapies for Parkinson’s disease and other genetically defined neurodegenerative diseases. Prevail is based in the Alexandria Center for Life Sciences on the East Side of Manhattan in New York City.

Position Description

The Associate/Manager, Competitive Intelligence (CI) will provide surveillance and analysis of the competitive space in gene therapy and other new modalities to support strategic planning and decision-making across different functions in the organization. The successful candidate will report to the Senior Director, Scientific Strategy and Planning and based on interest and qualifications may have the opportunity to support external communications for the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Research and analyze CI on gene therapy and related modalities, rare diseases, neurodegenerative disorders, and new targets

  • Provide CI support to all groups within the Prevail organization

  • Draft reports, presentations, and regular updates on CI

  • Support in-depth coverage and review of scientific, medical and industry conferences

  • Organize competitive intelligence search results, analyses, and supporting documents (e.g., corporate materials, scientific presentations)

  • Maintain competitive intelligence excel- and powerpoint-based trackers as data updates are released

  • Perform ad hoc analyses of competitive areas of interest to Prevail technical teams

  • Improve processes and tools for intelligence and by identifying and leveraging new external sources of information

  • Assist Senior Director in other tasks, including external communications.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelors and/or Master degree in science or health-related field

  • 3 years biotech/pharma industry or related experience with knowledge of drug development and biotechnology/pharma market

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills

  • Experience with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Demonstrated ability to rapidly analyze complex scientific information with high attention to detail

  • Advanced degree (e.g., master’s degree, PhD) in scientific or health-related field

  • Experience and/or working knowledge of gene therapy, neurodegeneration, or and related fields

  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across an organization

  • Experience working on projects involving data management & analysis, project management, and process improvement

  • Experience extracting data from clinicaltrials.gov and CI databases (e.g. Cortellis, Beacon, Adis Insight)

Additional Information

  • Location: New York, NY; expected to be in office >3 days/week.

  • Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $58,000 to $113,500 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
