Lilly Associate-Procurement in Overland Park, Kansas
The procurement associate is responsible for sourcing goods and services in a way that adds value to Elanco Kansas City. The focus of this role will be to establish sourcing strategies that are applied during strategic sourcing and value capture projects while maintaining relationships with suppliers who supply EKC.
Negotiate supply agreements with material suppliers.
Provide tactical support for purchase order life cycle, from processing through delivery and invoice payment to order closure
Develop market/technical knowledge for items specific to purchasing responsibilities.
Support the Supplier Relationships
Meet with suppliers for routine business discussions.
Serve as contact source for maintenance and administrative areas requiring assistance from suppliers.
Measure supplier performance in key areas.
Performs investigations for deviations.
Initiate trouble tickets for SAP and work with COE to resolve issues.
Continuous Improvement Activities
Improve purchasing processes by identifying appropriate method for ordering.
SAP power user
Serve as purchasing subject matter expert to other plant sites and corporate improvement teams.
Proficiency with computer systems, including Microsoft Office products, SAP and GMARS.
Demonstrated ability to work independently, set direction and manage commitments.
Demonstrated negotiating skills.
Demonstrated examples of taking bold leadership to drive organizational changes.
Proven interpersonal skills, especially in conflict situations and collaborates effectively with internal and external teams.
Demonstrated business acumen; good analytical and problem solving skills.
Problem solving techniques- root cause analysis, etc.
Ability to create and/or modify processes or procedures to coincide with best practices.
Demonstrated strong documentation skills.
Demonstrated strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
