Position Overview:

The Medical Imaging role will occupy a key position within the medical team to support development, pre-launch and launch activities for diagnostics and biomarkers as well as coordinate and partner with the Avid and broader Lilly imaging and clinical teams to ensure optimum integration of novel imaging and biomarker methods.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the medical imaging team for both development and customer needs by providing excellent and responsive medical information for the global community regarding investigational and commercial products

  • Provide expert interpretation of scans obtained in clinical trials

  • Collaborate with Imaging Research and Development by providing imaging analysis expertise and making appropriate recommendations

  • Anticipate the evolution of imaging and imaging applications and seek ways to position Avid to best evaluate the potential value of these directions

  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and approving Phase 1-3 and post-market clinical imaging studies

  • Lead community physicians’ training efforts for scan interpretation, including the development of training material, in the US and OUS

  • Interface with scientific and educational organizations involved in clinical imaging

  • Support review of data analysis and the development of slide decks and publications (abstracts, posters, manuscripts)

  • Seek out opportunities to stay abreast of new developments in diagnostic imaging technology

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualifications:

  • PhD in an imaging-related field or significant imaging experience or MD or DO from accredited US or foreign medical school with three or more years of postgraduate medical training

  • Extensive knowledge of PET imaging, analysis, and clinical interpretation

  • Clinical imaging research experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Board certification in Radiology or Nuclear Medicine preferred

  • 2-4 years of prior industry experience preferred

  • Proven analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent communication, listening, writing, and interpersonal skills

  • Demonstrated learning agility, critical thinking, and negotiation skills

  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills and ability to represent Avid and Lilly in a highly professional manner

  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as in highly integrated cross functional teams

Additional Information:

  • Overnight travel and attendance at educational programs will be required and is estimated at 30%

  • Lilly currently anticipates that the base salary for this position could range from between $172,000 to $303,500 and will depend, in part, on the successful candidate’s qualifications for the role, including education and experience. Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance). In addition, Lilly offers a comprehensive benefit program to eligible employees, including eligibility to participate in a company-sponsored 401(k); pension; vacation benefits; eligibility for medical, dental, vision and prescription drug benefits; flexible benefits (e.g., healthcare and/or dependent day care flexible spending accounts); life insurance and death benefits; certain time off and leave of absence benefits; and well-being benefits (e.g., employee assistance program, fitness benefits, and employee clubs and activities).Of course, the compensation described above is subject to change and could be higher or lower than the range described above.
