The Statistical Intern will work closely with the Project Statistician to develop fundamental skills required for a career in pharmaceutical statistics. This will include SAS programming, data analysis, review and archival deliverables for clinical trials/studies following industry standards, and the ability to work across departments in a professional setting. This person should have a basic understanding of SAS programming and academic experience in statistical models such as multivariate regression, Analysis of Covariance, and Mixed Models with Repeated Measures.


  • Programmatic creation of analysis datasets

  • Assist in archiving clinical datasets and output into the designated data archival space

  • Assist in the development of SAS programs and MACROs

  • Manipulate and analyze a variety of quantitative data

  • Assist with preparation and scheduling meetings

  • Assist in the requests to/from statistical vendors

  • Produce data displays for clinical and statistical reports

  • Perform quality assurance procedures on work performed by others

  • Ensure analysis data and programming codes meet regulatory and company standards

  • Conduct ad hoc statistical analysis on an as need basis

  • Demonstrate a commitment to developing around Avid's core competencies: cultivates innovation, drives engagement, ensures accountability, plans and aligns, nimble learning, and manages complexity

  • Other duties as assigned

Basic Qualificiations:

  • Pursuing undergraduate/graduate degree with a concentration in statistics, mathematics, or related fields

  • Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to be employed in the United States. Lilly does not anticipate providing sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H-1B or TN status) for this employment position

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Familiarity with fundament theory of statistics and general linear modeling

  • Demonstrated desire to learn and be challenged

  • Basic knowledge of SAS data steps and procedures

  • Proficient in MS Office

  • Desire to work as a collaborative team member

  • Proven ability to organize workload and priorities and complete tasks on time

  • Ability to work effectively and independently in a team environment

  • Ability to identify and solve technical problems
