Responsibilities

Eli Lilly Canada is currently searching for a capable Oncology Senior Marketing Manager to help people living with cancer benefit from our innovative medicines. The Oncology Business Unit is at an exciting time with a number of currently marketed and newly launched products and is actively preparing to launch new treatments. The successful candidate will be a person with a proven track record in marketing and effective cross-functional collaboration who brings a fresh innovative approach to the team and sees the opportunities to take pharmaceutical marketing to the next level. The role will be responsible for leading the marketing and Key Account Management team as well as commercial activities related to our existing and future oncology molecules, including delivering novel integrated customer plans, operational plans as well as business case development and launch planning for new assets. Levering technology and innovative thinking, you and your team generate new ways of expanding reach and creating exceptional customer experiences that will lead to brand uptake for patients appropriate for our innovative medications and drives commercial success.

You will lead, effectively work with and communicate cross-functionally within the organization and with key external healthcare providers and stakeholders in order to align the strategic and tactical direction of the brand with the overall corporate strategy and that of the oncology portfolio. You will be accountable for leading the development and management of the tactical execution of the customer plan in a way that is consistent with the principles and values of our organization. You will have a passion for the discipline of marketing and take an active role in positively contributing to capability changes that we all see happening.

Specifically this Oncology Senior Marketing Manager is responsible for:

  • Gaining deep customer insights across patients and HCPs involved in the management of cancer care in the associated tumor types

  • Leadership of the customer planning process and operational plan process for pre NOC and post NOC activities

  • Optimize internal and external collaboration and synergies across our oncology brand portfolio

  • Partnering with the Global and appropriate regional teams to ensure alignment on strategy and efficient use of common resources

  • Developing novel and innovative tactics that allow Lilly to partner with HCPs

  • Managing of the overall commercial brand budget and P&L for the assets that you lead

  • Lead commercial thought leader engagement strategy to build trusting partnerships with the top thought leaders in Canada

  • Providing input into the PRA planning and implementation process as we seek reimbursement

  • Providing insights into the sales forecast process

  • Building relationships and partnerships with key patient advocacy groups

  • Driving innovative thinking across the cross functional team

  • Ensuring that our commercial activities are planned and implemented in accordance with current compliance environment

  • Building the long term plan for the assets that you manage in the oncology portfolio

  • Coaching and mentoring the Oncology Partnership Manager and Oncology Brand Manager

Qualifications and Experience

  • University degree

  • Advanced degree strongly preferred (MBA, MSc, PhD)

  • 5+ years pharmaceutical/healthcare marketing experience

  • Demonstrated experience in pre-commercialization preparation and launch implementation

  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams – sales, medical, reimbursement & other departments.

  • Demonstrated thought leader engagement over time.

  • Demonstrated creativity in problem solving and customer solutions

  • Prefer skill and knowledge of digital communications and channels

  • Prefer experience in commercializing a product in a highly competitive therapeutic area

  • Prefer experience in commercialization of hospital based specialty products and knowledge of oncology landscape

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
