We are looking for an experienced District Manager to strengthen our Diabetes Leadership team and to backfill a currently vacant position. This position will be located in the North-West of Poland.

The District Manager we are looking for will inspire team performance and cultivate a culture of both, customer centricity and business results accountability. The person will be accountable to implement thoroughly the promotional brand strategy, to build operational plans and execute those with excellence to drive business results with the team. Strong collaboration with customers as well as internally with peers, x-functional colleagues and own team is another key attribute for this role.

Main Accountability/Responsibility


  • Inspires team performance and cultivates a culture that is customer focused and results accountable

  • Utilizes the performance management process to inspire, track and manage individual performance

  • Adapts coaching and leadership style to train and develop medical representatives’ competencies based on the Lilly Coaching Framework

  • Identifies, recruits, develops, and retains diverse talent based on the right capabilities, behaviors, development potential and performance

  • Works closely with Therapeutic Area cross-functional peers for a unified Team Lilly selling approach

  • Instills individual employee engagement and team health with a winning mindset


  • Clearly communicates the promotional brand strategy & the corresponding business goals, translates them with the team into effective operational plans and executes them with excellence

  • Coaches, models, and evaluates process and execution of territory business plans to achieve business results


  • Creates and contributes to a “Team-Lilly” culture where we execute with speed and agility

  • Models and coaches customer interaction capabilities that result in industry leading customer value

  • Sets high expectations for customer value creation, monitors performance, and takes appropriate action (positive/developmental)

  • Has an excellent therapeutic area, product (own/competitive) and market understanding to teach own team

  • Builds strategic relationships with key customers and thought leaders

  • Trains profoundly medical representatives for deep products and disease state understanding

  • Partners effectively with Marketing and Medical functions towards excellent customer experiences


  • Communicates and monitors effectively business goals at district level to achieve desired performance

  • Captures local opportunities and mitigates local threats

  • Maximizes business opportunity by effectively prioritizing tasks and resources

  • Implements business plan, monitors execution/results, and adapts as needed to accomplish business objectives

  • Removes barriers that stand in the way of achieving results

  • Operates with high integrity, understands, complies, and coaches to Lilly policies and procedures


  • Proven leadership experience and successful performance record in sales management roles (>5 years)

  • Substantial track record in successfully hiring, developing, coaching and retaining individuals and forming a winning team

  • Operates with high integrity

  • Has proven to inspire and engage a team towards a common vision and business goal

  • Has shown to successfully implement a promotional brand strategy, build a successful operational district plan, and execute it with excellence

  • Knows how to build strong relationships with customers and thought leaders

  • Preferably, has a deep understanding of the Diabetes field and the products on the market


  • Strong leadership and coaching skills to inspire individual and team performance

  • Strong selling skills and capabilities to train and coach own team towards

  • Strong implementation and execution excellence skills to successfully translate promotional strategy into business results

  • Strong business acumen/analytical skills to identify improvement areas and to initiate change management as needed

  • Strong communication skills (verbal/written) to effectively communicate with customers, x-functional colleagues, peers, supervisors, and own team

  • Ability to prioritize and focus on the essence

  • Ability to understand, learn and memorize deep product knowledge

  • Preferably, good English language skills (competent in writing and speaking)
