This Biologist position is in the Department of Biologics Automation and High-Throughput Technologies, Eli Lilly and Company Biotechnology Center, San Diego, CA. We are a diverse team of scientists responsible for coordinating and performing sequencing reactions for both Sanger and next generation platforms. Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in performing DNA Sequencing reactions on the 3730XL DNA Analyzer.

  • Assist in performance of MiSeq Next Generation Sequencing.

  • Perform Cloning of Phage display hits into mammalian expression vectors.

  • Monitor scPCR Vector preparation and perform quality control

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Science related field with research or laboratory experience

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • Basic Molecular Biology knowledge and experience such as PCR, plasmid purification, cloning, agarose and polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and restriction digests.

  • Ability to work in a team environment.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Sanger DNA Sequencing

  • Familiarity with MiSeq System

  • Biomek Robot experience

  • Capillary Electrophoresis
