Leading the investigations of the most complex cases with E&C-related risk in the affiliate (P&C cases and Level-3 cases) and recommending disciplinary actions for alignment with supervisors of implicated employees

Key Responsibilities

  • Know and commit to the company’s global standard investigation methodology: 1) Ability to design investigation plan of complicated investigation cases independently; 2) ability to conduct desk analysis and design effective investigation interview plans; 3) ability to conduct investigation interviews with different level employees and obtain the fact-finding evidence; 4) Flexibility in dealing with a variety of situations during investigation process; 5) Ability to write case study and share with key stakeholders to address key risk areas so as to align valuable CAPAs.

  • Communicate effectively across a broad range of stakeholders: 1) Ability to coach junior team members to conduct investigative interviews; 2) ability to respond and engage with raisers of anonymous allegations; 3) ability to train the site-check vendor on quality of outsourced fact-finding; 4) ability to align on disciplinary actions with supervisors (from first level to top level); 5) ability to present the company stance on disciplinary decisions to affiliate senior leadership (CCWG); 6) ability to consult other investigators (including HR, Suzhou, Elanco, etc.).

  • Ability to maintain objectivity with an aligned decision and conviction in spite of potential business pressure (e.g., disciplinary recommendations). Demonstrated ability to act independently while keeping others informed/involved as appropriate.

  • Provide SME (Subject Matter Expertise) guidance and consultation and to ensure consistency of process and consequences for investigations at Lilly China.

  • Be curious, inquisitive, yet methodical: adapt to a broad range of case types and approach each with consistent methodology of preparations and analysis (SOPs, transactions review, etc.).

  • Know the business: Apply the findings to productive root cause analysis with business partners.

  • Identify new opportunities (including skill training) via external benchmarking to upgrade the Investigation team's organizational impact.
