Overall Job Purpose:

Develop and implement and Diabetes Business Unit sales strategy to achieve the short and long-term sales goals. Prepare sales forecasts, establish targets in areas such as product mix, sales volume, market share, or business development and monitor the performance of the organization against these goals. Adjust sales strategies and plans to meet changing markets and competitive conditions. Oversee the overall sales budget for DBU, monitor the cost and effectiveness of sales activities to optimize resources and prioritize spending. Lead, direct, evaluate and develop the DBU sales force to achieve established sales and profit goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to the day-to-day operations of the DBU sales team, while maintaining focus on the company’s strategic goals.

  • Analyze sales statistics to determine business growth potential.

  • Establish performance goals for all sales department employees, and monitors performance on a continual basis.

  • Oversee all hiring and training of personnel involved in Sales.

  • Develop, implement and lead cross functional effort to execute the effective diabetes sales strategic plan to achieve sales target.

  • Coordinate sales operations with all other departments/divisions of the Company.

  • Develop and/or maintains and improves business relations with internal/external customers

  • Seek out and targets new customers and new sales opportunities, initiates action plan to approach and secure new business

  • Develop and maintain a strong work relationship with key thought leaders.

  • Lead and influence a successful and experienced team of Diabetes Sales managers.

  • Monitor, analyze sales and market trends.

  • Responsible for managing and controlling the DBU sales budget

  • Responsible for driving revenue and use learning’s from that experience to refine sales processes and to build an appropriate team

  • Attract, retain, train and motivate a diverse sales force

  • Prospecting and growing an account list, handling incoming leads and closing sales.


  • Bachelor’s degree in a business related field

  • MBA will be a plus.

  • Minimum of 5 years experience in a sales management capacity in the pharmaceutical industry
