Lilly manufacturing sites worldwide are introducing a number of Next Generation technologies and Digital Capabilities that will allow them to become the predictive and adaptive “digital plants of the future”. With that Innovation in mind, Lilly is designing and building a new state of the art Parenteral, Device Assembly, and Packaging Facility located at the Research Triangle Park (RTP) in North Carolina. This is an exciting opportunity to help build and operate a state-of-the-art manufacturing site and Quality System from the ground up.
Within the Supply Chain/Logistics area, we are looking for opportunities to introduce innovation by implementing the latest Supply Chain/Logistics Digital Capabilities that will enable “End to End” Supply Chain Visibility. The goal is to optimize the whole manufacturing operations by achieving lean logistic flows and integration with automated equipment and shop floor operations.
At the center of the Logistics operation will sit the SAP Extended Warehouse Management System (eWM). This modern, next generation Warehouse Management platform will provide many opportunities for efficiency, reduction in manpower and reduction non-value added activities, all of this driven by strong digital capabilities, integration, and automated operations.
A key role to materialize these objectives is the Business Analyst - Manufacturing Supply Chain & Logistics.
The primary focus of the Business Analyst - Manufacturing Supply Chain & Logistics is to provide integration between business resources and IDS, influencing the processes, tools and operating models. The role will support the implementation and maintenance of applications/solutions and will support customers by implementing value-driven solutions with a primary focus on EWM.
The role will support Lilly’s manufacturing site logistic flow from in-bound to out-bound, supply material to shop floor, and storing of material in warehouses. The warehouse management solution (EWM) will have a high integration with automated equipment at site, like for example automated warehouses to store and retrieve material (ASRS), central palletizers, and automated guided vehicles (AGVs) to deliver material to manufacturing and packaging lines.
The scope of the logistics support will include additional solutions beyond eWM, like logistic flow monitoring tools, transportation management, data analytics, etc.
Some regional and international travel will be required to meet with business partners and develop key working relationships as part of a global function.
Understand how the logistics applications and tools integrate with other critical systems like MES (Manufacturing Execution Systems) and Process Automation.
Support the implementation of SAP eWM, become an expert in the SAP eWM technology and its integration to additional SAP SCM modules. Learn the logistics business processes, applications, tools, etc.
Be forward thinking with respect to technical evolutions within the SCM systems landscape which help to improve the user experience or functionality of the offering.
Lead, manage and participate in projects, understanding business impact, evaluating/recommending technical options.
Support site implementation activities, integration to other site functions, ensure site preparation activities, and site communications.
Work with site business area and leadership, IT Architects, MES architects, Data Analytics architects, and Robotics group to implement the Next Gen Warehouse Solutions landscape to most effectively meet business needs.
Work with IDS groups like GS IDS, GIS Basis (infrastructure), to support delivery of infrastructure for NGWS solutions to our enterprise.
Work with business area leadership, IT Architects, and Enterprise IT architecture on cross-organizational issues.
Promote process improvement and innovation to drive business process optimization.
Leverage ESP resources across a broad spectrum of service offerings.
Adhere to corporate computer systems validation policies and procedures.
Experience working in a regulated industry (i.e. GMP) and strong understanding of quality processes in IT applying to manufacturing and distribution.
Experience with integrated logistic flow in a manufacturing facility, including prior experience with AGVs and MES systems.
Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with Major in Information Systems, Computer Science or Programming; or BS Engineering (Computer, Electrical, Industrial, Mechanical, Chemical) or equivalent.
Ability to communicate effectively in written and verbal form (in English), with proven success at delivering key messages to both management and peers across multiple business functions
