RESPONSIBILITIES STATEMENT:

Eli Lilly Canada is currently searching for a capable Marketing Leader for our Diabetes Portfolio. As the Marketing Leader, you will lead the brand managers and market research to develop innovative patient centric customer plans, to ensure that the team implements the multi-channel tactical plans with integrity while maintaining the core Lilly values. You will ensure that a clear measurement plan is in place to evaluate implementation, customer progress, brand performance and budget management. You will help the team to prioritize the tactics that have maximal impact, return on investment, and deliver remarkable customer experiences. You will inspire the team to experiment with new ideas that add value to our customers and differentiate Lilly in the Diabetes market.

You will lead your team to develop and implement an optimal near and long-term customer strategies and programs that align the to the prioritized moments of truth. You and your team will be responsible for creating exceptional customer experiences that will lead to brand uptake for patients appropriate for our innovative medications. You will help lead and effectively work and communicate cross-functionally within the organization and with key external healthcare providers and stakeholders in order to align the strategic and tactical direction of the brand with the overall global strategy. You will have a passion for the discipline of marketing and take an active role in positively contributing to success across the entire marketing organization.

The marketing leader will help to provide an environment that supports team engagement, recognition and learning.

The marketing lead will participate as a lead team member with the diabetes business unit. This lead team is responsible for the business unit business planning, strategic planning, and affiliate success. You will also build collaborative relationships with the global brand teams to ensure that Canada is capitalizing on the global knowledge and brand assets.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Recruitment and development of brand managers

  • Coaching your team to high performance

  • Engagement and recognition of the team

  • Leadership of the customer planning process and operational plan process

  • Management of the overall commercial brand budget

  • Involvement in the PRA planning and implementation

  • P&L for the Diabetes business at Lilly Canada

  • Provide input on key assumptions that are used to set the yearly sales forecast for all brands

  • Ensuring that Thought Leader plans are in place and are implemented to build trusting partnerships with the top Canadian thought leaders

  • Driving innovative thinking across the commercial team to respond to the changing environment

  • Providing leadership in building the affiliate diversity and inclusion culture

  • Ensuring that the team understands the current compliance environment and operates within the guidelines

  • Holding the team accountable for any deviations from the compliance guidelines

  • Challenging processes at Lilly Canada to improve our responsiveness to customers and ensuring that we optimize our efficiency

  • Participation in the Lilly Canada Diabetes leadership team

  • Sharing best practices and lessons learned across the entire affiliate to ensure that the Lilly Canada team benefits from the work in DBU

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

  • University degree, prefer graduate degree in science and/or business

  • Deep pharmaceutical marketing or other healthcare marketing experience

  • Demonstrated brand management capabilities across a broad array of brands

  • Demonstrated leadership in sales and marketing

  • Demonstrated leadership of cross-functional teams – sales, medical, reimbursement and other departments.

  • Demonstrated creativity in problem solving and customer solutions

  • Demonstrated coaching and people development skills

  • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills

  • Prefer French language skills

  • Prefer experience in Diabetes Management area

  • Prefer experience in pre commercialization preparation and launch implementation

This role is based at Lilly Canada head office, now located at 130 King Street West, in the core of Downtown Toronto.
