Responsibilities

The Financial Associate will be responsible for pricing and financial processes to ensure that decisions are executed flawlessly at Lilly Canada. The Financial Associate will also lead the Lilly Canada’s budget and provide financial guidance to budget holders for an affiliate function. The Financial Associate will report to the Pricing and Financial Planning Manager. You will be a crucial part of a team that manages pricing and finance responsibilities for Lilly Canada.

Strategic Pricing & Pricing Operations

a. Pricing Operations and Contracting

  • Manage pricing compliance requirements locally and globally including PMPRB reporting, monitoring and issues management

  • Coordinate the price change process including external communication with public and private payers

  • Lead the rebate accruals process, ensuring timely and accurate accounting, reporting and rebate accrual true-up process

  • Responsible for managing the rebate invoice payment process from beginning to end including gathering the invoices, reconciling the data, receiving approval and processing payments

  • Analyze the accrual and rebate processes frequently in order to ensure accuracy of affiliate accruals

  • Resolve issues related to invoicing and payments by connecting to payer representatives if needed

  • Lead RFP and tendering processes by ensuring contract documentation requirements are followed and contract approval governance is in place requirements and process

b. Pricing Analytics

  • Provide both technical and analytical expertise as a central resource for Pricing function within a collaborative team environment

  • Analyze price levels, investigate the reasons of fluctuations through cross-functional partner discussions and present deviations to Pricing and Financial Planning Manager monthly

  • Develop analytics and financial modelling capability to support pricing and contract negotiation strategy with payers

Financial Planning and Analysis

a. Financial & Strategic Operations

  • Demonstrate a keen interest or deep understanding about the business and budget management to manage OPEX actuals to plan

  • Exemplify high integrity, fiscal responsibility and business ownership

  • Collaborate closely with the Functional Leaders, guiding leaders for making strategic trade-offs

  • Develop analysis to inform business cases and projects across the affiliate

b. Forecasting & Annual Business Planning Process for the Assigned Portion of the Budget

  • Lead the quarterly forecasting and annual business planning process by collecting insights from budget holders and running analysis to forecast the budget needs required for upcoming months/quarters

  • Thoroughly assess, challenge and recommend action on the strategic direction and financial submissions

  • Ensure accuracy and timeliness of multiple Excel and SAP submissions

c. Monthly Reporting & Accounting Support

  • Prepare financial variances for month, quarter and YTD results providing understanding of business drivers and risks

  • Co-create monthly financial presentations and present financial results to senior leadership in a clear and concise manner

  • Manage the account reclassifications and account reconciliations including accruals

Requirements

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelors’ Degree or equivalent (MBA or MSc in Finance or Economics is preferred)

  • Able to think critically, innovatively and possess strong business acumen

  • Excellent quantitative technical ability, highly capable in Microsoft Excel and learning agility for new systems

  • Ability to work well with multiple or competing deadlines while maintaining meticulous attention to detail

  • Strong written and oral communication skills

  • Proven problem-solving skills with Bias for action and ability to influence without authority

Additional Skills/Preferences:

  • 1-3 years of experience preferably in finance or planning/budgeting role

  • Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs

  • Action-oriented and demonstrated by managing complex projects in a fast-paced environment with changing and/or competing priorities

  • Bilingual (English / French)
