Building solutions to improve our infrastructure operations, enabling us to run a lean organisation and automate as much as possible.
Designing new solutions to complex problems.
Executing defined work packages.
Writing to ensure our solutions are well documented and simple to understand.
Running handover activities with Operations teams.
Building enhancements and fixes where necessary.
Working in an Agile team, attending typical ceremonies (e.g. daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, retrospectives).
Ensuring the delivered solution meets not just technical, architecture and application principles, but also is compliant to our IT Security, Privacy and Quality needs.
Running deep dive initiatives to help overcome major incidents, complex problems and/or realise opportunities.
Active participation in tech talks to educate and raise awareness about different topics, or even sharing new ideas.
Actively building and staying abreast of emerging technologies, guiding teams on how to interpret and best leverage the emerging technologies.
Engaging in the community (internally and externally) across multiple channels, looking to share, educate and inspire.
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or commensurate industry experience
At least 2 years’ experience as a DevOps engineer
Experience in building and optimizing CI/CD Pipelines
Practical knowledge of packaging and deploying applications
Experience with git (e.g. using tools such as GitHub)
Experience with public cloud platforms (e.g. PaaS, IaaS, FaaS)
Understanding DevOps lifecycle processes and supporting tools
Experience working in an Agile team
Strong communication skills with multiple examples of being able to convey complex ideas in a manner that resulted in a definitive direction and result
Strong personal & work organisational skills
Experience in designing and building technical solutions
Experience within an infrastructure operations environment
Experience with Microsoft Azure Cloud
Strong scripting capabilities (PowerShell, Python, Bash)
Familiar with Ansible automation
Familiar with virtualization solutions (VMWare)
Strong passion about new technologies, new ideas and creative way of thinking
