Lilly Operator I-Production-FDE in Winslow, Maine
The Operator performs general laboratory functions, which include, but are not limited to the following areas:
Virus (Tissue Culture and eggs derived)/Bacterial inoculation, harvest, and inactivation.
Lyophilization, product batching, filling vials and process supervision.
Emulsions, concentration, centrifuge and inactivated vaccine filling
Preparation for and clean up after all production operations.
Washing, wrapping and sterilizing glassware and equipment
Concurrent management of documentation.
Functions, Duties, Tasks:
Understands and practices good aseptic technique and biosecurity measures.
Perform routine, repetitive tasks with moderate to limited degree of supervision.
Performs duties according to established SOP's, production records and company safety procedures.
Concurrently completes documentation and follows established protocols.
Disinfection and Preparation work includes, but is not limited to, the following:
Washing, wrapping and sterilizing of glassware and laboratory equipment
Disinfecting ceilings, walls, floors, furniture, fixtures and equipment,
Participation in the harvest, inactivation
Virus/Bacterial/Tissue Culture productions, participate in room and equipment preparation, process setup, inoculation eggs/roller bottles, harvest eggs/roller bottles, antigen processing, inactivation and disinfection.
Lyophilization – participate in room and equipment preparation, process setup, fill of vials using aseptic practices and supervision of the lyophilization process
A minimal GPA of 3.3 in Sciences (Math, Chemistry and Biology) is preferred.
Associates Degree and previous exposure to aseptic technique and/or other lab sciences is preferred.
Speed and accuracy of fine hand manipulation and good eye-hand coordination required.
Must be an effective member of a team and be able to follow written and oral instructions.
Must possess oral and written communication skills
Scientific aptitude and eagerness to learn preferred
This position is not permanent. It is for a fixed duration of two years with potential to extend annually for up to 4 years.
Occasional weekend and off-hour work may be required.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and clean room environment may apply.
May be required to work in an area with exposure to potential allergens.
Position may require a certain amount of heavy lifting (up to 60 pounds).

Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing if applicable.
