Lilly Quality Control Specialist in Winslow, Maine

The position will perform routine testing of in process antigens and testing of final products for the release of veterinary vaccines, as well as additional tests to support the quality team. The individual will be responsible for supporting the QC autogenous program to aid in providing quality products to customers in a timely manner. The individual will compile test documents and submit draft APHIS Form 2008s to Quality Assurance for final products. The individual may conduct specific studies or projects to improve the quality or efficiency of products or procedures.
Functions, Duties, Task:
Accurately and efficiently perform all required tests for bulk antigens, final products and other procedures necessary to support company and laboratory objectives guidelines to meet specified timelines.
Perform basic troubleshooting procedures for test methods and instrumentation. Investigate new techniques and procedures to improve the quality of testing.
Maintain data integrity and ensure compliance with SOPs, 9 CFR specifications and USDA regulations.
Compile test documents for final product testing. Draft APHIS Form 2008s for final products, ensuring 9 CFR and USDA regulations have been met.
Assist with updating, writing and maintaining Standard Operating Procedures for the department.
Act as a backup to the QC Specialist- Autogenous position, maintain communication with cross functional groups while representing QC for autogenous needs.
Operate and proactively maintain laboratory equipment, ensuring that equipment maintenance is properly and concurrently documented.
Provide support for site audits as needed.
Perform other tasks as assigned by the QC Team Leader.
Responsible for maintaining a safe work environment and working safely.
High School Diploma | GED
Completion of Post Offer Exam, Completion of Work Simulation or Completion of Administrative Skills Testing, if applicable.
Must be able to pass a background check
Gain Select Agent clearance within 60 days from start date

Experience in working in a team environment and handling multiple tasks simultaneously.
Ability to independently manage projects and tasks according to deadlines.
Must demonstrate flexibility, adaptability and initiative.
Strong communication, planning and organizational skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel, capable of using a controlled informatics system.
Bachelor of Science degree in Microbiology, Virology, Bacteriology, Biology or related field
Minimum of four (4) years of laboratory experience.
Fundamental experience in cell culture, viral and bacterial propagation. A basic understanding of good aseptic technique.
A drive to improve and develop test systems.
Strong ability to multitask; performing testing while communicating with cross functional team members, maintaining clear records of all testing and work completed.
Requires the use of personal protective equipment, including respirator.
